It is now official, two African countries will not take part in the qualifiers for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations. They are Zimbabwe and Kenya, both suspended by FIFA for political interference.
Announced several months ago, it is now official. According to information reported by Foot Africa, FIFA has confirmed the suspension of Kenya and Zimbabwe. These two countries will therefore not take part in the draw for the AFCON 2022 qualifiers.
A few months ago, at a press conference, FIFA President Gianni Infantino spoke about this suspension. “We had to suspend two of our members; Kenya and Zimbabwe, both for government interference in the activities of football associations. The associations are suspended with immediate effect”, had launched Gianni Infantino.
Note that the draw for the AFCON 2023 qualifiers will take place on Tuesday April 19 at 5:30 p.m. GMT.
